Week 1

 

This week has been good and we had pink day today. For math we have been doing decimals and for literacy we have been planning a film. The movie is a western about a kid that gets robbed and kidnapped by 2 bandits. We are going to start filming in week 3. I will probably post it when it's done. 

Week 7

This week in literacy we have started to work on our video essay and make our groups for the movie we are going to make next term.

In maths we have been learning probability and figured out the chance to win the lotto. The chances were, 1 in 3838380

 Hi bloggers, the last couple of weeks in literacy we have been learning about kid's books and we started to write our own. Mine is about a dog named Oscar and how his owners got a new job so he is trapped inside for the whole day for everyday. So he then escapes to see his neighborhood friends who are all dogs and cats. My story isnt finished yet tho.

Hi readers,
An aurora, sometimes referred to as polar lights, northern lights, or southern lights, is a natural light display in the Earth's sky, predominantly seen in the high-latitude regions. Auroras are the result of disturbances in the magnetosphere caused by the solar wind. We also made an art piece about it.

Matariki

Kia ora,
Since it is Matariki now, Caleb, Archie, and me made a presentation with a poem and an animation. When you get to the animation skip through slides quickly to make it more animated.

Hi bloggers this week I finished and handed in my google site on the Wizard of Oz film. the link to get to it is above, I advise you to read it to educate yourself about the old, classic movie.

In math, we learned how to tell if two number patterns are linear or non-linear. It is linear if the two number sequences have the same pattern, which you can see in a graph if the line is going straight not curving.

Week 9

Hi bloggers, this week I was finishing my website that explains the Themes, Symbols and Characters of the Wizard of oz movie. For maths we learnt to balance an equation and find what the symbols in the equations were, we also figured out how to rig a math game. I will put the full site up when it is finished.

Koru Art

Last week I finished my Koru art and it turned out pretty average but it was not too bad. We used pastels and dye.

Last week for one session of inquiry we looked into irony. Irony in its broadest sense, is a rhetorical device, literary technique, or event in which what appears, on the surface, to be the case, differs radically from what is actually the case. Irony can be categorised into different types, including verbal irony, dramatic irony, and situational irony. This is my comic that shows irony.

For our first week back at school for maths we have been learning how to work out equations in python. For Literacy, we have started to create a site that displays the Wizard of Oz and how it showed symbols and gave a message to the audience. I haven't finished it yet so I don't have a screenshot.

Roast Chicken

Kia ora, This week In online math we have been learning how to divide, multiply, add, and subtract fractions. There was also a virtual escape room that we had to try to get out of by using our maths.
For literacy, we have still been focusing on the Wizard of Oz as we are doing an essay on it later on. We watched the movie since we have read the book so when we get to the essay we will choose if we want to do it in the book or movie. The photo that is on here is for my Friday task, it was pretty lame but my fat chicken is pretty cool.

The Greatest Blog Post of All Time

Kia Ora people, this week in maths I have learned how to calculate the area of circles and composite shapes. It took a bit to understand but now I have the hang of it. For literacy, we have been focusing on the themes from the Wizard of Oz book and learning the importance of them and how those themes are displayed in the book. The slide that is on this post is one of our Friday tasks, it is a list of some of the rare sightings of wild animals in cities ever since this lockdown has started around the world. :)

This is the hybrid animal I drew, it is an Elephant crossed with a butterfly. The ears are the butterfly wings but they didn't turn out very good. It has a crown as well :)

Coordinates on a plane

This week for maths we have been focusing on coordinates, for one of the activities we had to make a shape on a coordinate plane and reflect them then label the points with their coordinates. These are the 3 shapes that I reflected.

Wizard Of Oz Similarities

Hey Bloggers,
For literacy, we are looking at the Wizard of Oz since we have finished our essay. Yesterday we looked at similar movies or books that have a similar sort of storyline. The two movies I put down are Narnia and BFG. The reasons why I chose them are above on the slide.

Hi Bloggers,

Today I went for a bike with my dog and to keep myself occupied I played Fortnite, Watch a movie and even gave myself a haircut. Then I did some speed basic facts stuff on math buddy. This is my new high score.

Symmetry

Today I drew my Rotational Symmetry but I have no color pencils or felts so I stole my sisters Highlighter and used that to color every second letter in the drawing.

Kia Ora People

For the start of this year, we have been drawing a self-portrait. Around the portrait, we have drawn pictures of things we love to do. We have also put the flag or a drawing that represents our culture or where we a from. For me, I am mainly a Kiwi but a quarter Chinese and Maori. The things I drew were Basketball, Kiwi, American football, Maccas & more things.

I have not yet finished my Self-Portrait but when I do next week it will be uploaded.
